Tinker AFB Heritage Park

This RB-47E (53-4257) was at the Confederate Air Force Museum in Harlingen, Tx. and is now at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. When the CAF moved out of Harlingen (for Midland), the AF Museum took most of the outdoor display airplanes and redistributed them. Some were scrapped as all of them had a lot of corrosion. Tinker is a very nice "airpark" on the north side of the base with quite a few airplanes. This RB-47E has been painted gray. Even though it is not an accurate finish, it does protect it somewhat from the elements. It is the only preserved RB-47E left. It originally came to Harlingen from Wright-Pat AFB where it had been a test-bed aircraft.
